WV het Bovenwater

For many years, WV het Bovenwater has been an association with a regional function, with a major focus on youth sailing. Fun in water sports is the reason for our existence. The club has a beautiful site with good facilities. The water we use is excellent for open boat classes. From the municipality and the water board, the club has a dispensation to accompany sailors with motor boats. Furthermore, no other motorised vessels are allowed on the Bovenwater. This makes the area very suitable for youth who want to learn the basics of sailing in a safe way. We do this by training in the optimist from level CWO1 to CWO3.

Match sailing: 

The association has a long tradition of developing youth sailing. Many children once started in an optimist for their CWO1 certificate and grew into sailors who have measured themselves against other sailing talents regionally and (inter-)nationally. A number of classes are supported at the club with training and competitions; such as the optimist, splash, laser 4.7 and laser radial. The two-person classes include the RS feva and the 420. Our association has the ambition to grow the two-person classes as well.

Recreational sailing: 

Not everyone enjoys competing with others around the buoys. Our water is excellent for relaxing. A recreation committee organises various activities for that purpose, and also invites others to have a go at sailing through boarding days. We have a fleet of six centaurs at our disposal for this purpose and, in addition, there are many members with their own boat who are happy to take someone along.

Sailing lessons: 

Besides youth sailing lessons, adults and older youth can also learn to sail at our club. A team of instructors will let you enjoy the pleasure of water sports with others in a fun way. By taking the lessons, you will master sailing skills until you can sail independently. After that, you can work on increasing your understanding and skill. A great course for parents, for example, whose children will be sailing and who do not have the experience from their youth. That way, you can later enjoy sailing together with your child and start doing it together.
